f the branchial spaces that should disappear during fetal development are not eliminated, they appear as branchial cysts in the postnatal period. They are the most common congenital neck masses on the lateral side of the neck.

There are four types of branchial cysts, and a second branchial cyst is seen in 95% of the cases. BR It usually occurs between the ages of 20-40. Its late appearance is due to the growth of the cyst as a result of previous upper respiratory tract infections.

Diagnosis:

Clinical findings are established by radiological examinations such as neck ultrasound or computed tomography.

Treatment:

Branchial cleft cysts; recurrent infections should be treated because of cosmetic deformity and potential for future cancer relapse. In treatment, the cyst is surgically removed together with the duct.
