REVISION RHINOPLASTY

Sometimes, if the desired aesthetic result cannot be achieved in rhinoplasty, a second, third or more surgeries may be needed. No matter how experienced the surgeon is, there is a 10% chance of having a second operation in aesthetic nose surgeries.

The important thing here is the size of the revision. Sometimes there may be a small problem that can only be corrected with a rasp, and sometimes there may be major problems involving the cartilage and/or bone roof of the nose. In such a case, if there is not enough cartilage in the nose, it may be necessary to take cartilage from the ribs or auricle.

As the number of surgeries increases in revision surgeries, the risks also increase. The patient should be informed in detail about this.
