CONCHA HYPERTROPHY (NASAL CONCHA ENLARGMENT)
CONCHA HYPERTROPHY (NASAL CONCHA ENLARGMENT)
Concha is the name of the nasal meats located on both side walls of the nose. There are 3 conchae on each side of the nose, the lower, middle and upper turbinates. They humidify, warm and filter the air we breathe. Due to deviation, allergic conditions, infections, some drugs, hormones, pregnancy and similar reasons, the concha enlarges and causes nasal obstruction.
Treatment is for the cause. If any, conditions such as infections and allergies are treated. Nasal growths that do not respond to treatment or are associated with deviation can be reduced by radiofrequency.
